Suspects sought for assault, attempted robbery in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have released a surveillance video showing four suspects assaulting a man and attempting to rob him in South Philadelphia.

It happened on January 10 on the 1200 block of South Broad Street.

The video shows the suspects approaching a 25-year-old male from behind.

Police say the suspects then knocked the victim to the ground, and began kicking and punching him several times.

During the attack, the suspects made several attempts to grab the victim's cell phone.

After failing to do so, the suspects fled in an unknown direction.

The incident remains under investigation.
