Tail snaps off helicopter in Lumberton

LUMBERTON, N.J. -- The tail of a helicopter snapped off after it came in for a hard landing on Thursday in Lumberton, New Jersey.

It happened just after 11 a.m. at the South Jersey Regional Airport on Stacy Haines Road.

There were no injuries reported.

The airport was closed after the crash but was expected to reopen a short time later.

The view from Chopper 6 showed the helicopter's tail on the ground.

The helicopter involved was resting on its skids.
