Teaming up to prevent house fires

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- PECO volunteers are helping the red cross and Philadelphia fire department install hundreds of smoke detectors Tuesday.

They focused on West Philadelphia Tuesday as they work to eliminate fire-related deaths in the city.

September is national preparedness month.

Volunteers focus on high-risk neighborhoods and also work to educate people about the dangers of house fires.
