Teen critically injured in shooting at Chester park

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Chester police are investigating a shooting that left a teen critically injured.

It happened around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park near 7th and Engle.

Police say gunfire erupted on or near the basketball courts.

The victim, a 17-year-old male, was rushed to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, suffering from what appeared to be a shotgun blast to the back.

No word on arrests or a motive for the shooting.
