BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police have identified the teen who was killed in an ATV crash in Bensalem, Bucks County.

The crash happened just after 6 p.m. Friday on Bensalem Boulevard and Ford Road.

Police say a four-wheeler that was riding in the street hit a car broadside.

The ATV was driven by 13-year-old Gianni Forte, who was killed in the crash. His passenger, also 13 years old, was critically injured.

Police say Gianni was not wearing a helmet. The passenger was wearing a helmet, and was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital and then transported to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

"Vehicle turned in front of them. Didn't see them on the ATV. Right now we have one fatality and one in critical condition at the hospital," said Bensalem Police Lt. David Richardson.

"The 60-year-old driver stopped and is cooperating. No signs of impairment," said Richardson.

That person suffered minor injuries in the crash.

"I feel horrible for the family. To lose a son at a young age. You shouldn't have to do that," said Jim Rawlins of Bensalem.

Residents are heartbroken to hear news of a child's death. Police say ATV riding in the streets in the area has been a problem for a while. But one man we spoke with doesn't think this tragedy will change anything.

"Kids will be kids. They're going to do what they do even with parental overwatch," said Rawlins.

"The lesson is don't ride ATVs on the roadways," said Richardson.

The preliminary investigation revealed the ATV was driving without any lights on.

The investigation is still ongoing.
