TORRESDALE (WPVI) -- Authorities say a teenager was shot in the chest during an apparent robbery in Philadelphia's Torresdale neighborhood.
It happened just before 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Torresdale Playground at 9550 Frankford Avenue.
Arriving officers found the 18-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
He was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital in critical but stable condition.
No word on any possible suspects.
Police are investigating.
The investigation revealed that the victim was was with several other teens in the playground when they were approached by a male they know who demanded money from the victim.
The suspect pulled out a black revolver and pointed the gun at the victim, and after a brief struggle the gun was fired.
The suspect fled the area before police arrived. He is described as a black male with a dark complexion, 20-23 years of age, 5'7" tall, last seen wearing black shorts and black shirt.
