Teenage boy critical after being shot multiple times in Juniata

JUNIATA (WPVI) -- Police say a teenage boy is fighting for life after being shot up to ten times in the Juniata section of Philadelphia.

It happened at 12:30 a.m. Monday in the 4000 block of Maywood Street.

Officers arrived to find the 17-year-old boy suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

They rushed him to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

Investigators say the boy was shot with a .22 caliber weapon.

Police say the suspect fled an older model Pontiac Grand Prix.

They are working to determine who shot him and why.
