A 17-year-old boy is dead after being shot in North Philadelphia.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 17-year-old boy is dead after being shot in North Philadelphia.

The shooting happened shortly before 9:00 p.m. Monday along the 2400 block of West Huntingdon Street.

Arriving officers found the teen down with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police transported the boy to Temple University Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Authorities say at least 19 shots were fired, with at least 8 of those fired at point-blank range.

No arrests have been made.
