The next generation of American engineers, mathematicians and innovators are bringing their robots, prototypes and solar-charging cars to the nation's capital for the sixth annual "White House Science Fair."

More than 100 students from across the country will be honored by President Obama Wednesday at the event, which puts a spotlight on ideas for changing the future of the country. The White House said it will focus this year's event on ways to fight climate change and cancer.

The president often makes an effort to meet the students and tour the various projects on display, taking time to marvel at the designs.
