Thief knocks over man, steals phone in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A thief played it cool while picking out his target in South Philadelphia.

Police have released surveillance video taken last Tuesday night along the 800 block of Washington Avenue.

Detectives say the male suspect paced around until he spotted another man sitting outside his home.

The thief ran up to him, knocked the man over, took his cell phone and ran off.

If you recognize the thief, police want to hear from you.
