Tree falls on car on Martin Luther King Drive, 1 hospitalized

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- One person was taken to the hospital after a tree fell on a car in Fairmount Park.

The accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.

Police say a man was driving down MLK Drive when a tree fell onto his vehicle.

He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Authorities have shut down MLK Drive between Montgomery and Sweet Briar drives.
