An underground fire knocked out power to hundreds of people in Philadelphia's Old City section late Tuesday night.

OLD CITY (WPVI) -- About 80 customers are still without power after an underground fire knocked out power to hundreds of people in Philadelphia's Old City section.

The fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 100 block of Arch Street.

Firefighters arrived and quickly contained the smoke and flames.

PECO crews were called to the scene to assess the cause and make repairs.

Officials say they are hoping to have everyone back online Thursday morning.
