VIDEO: Seach for Upper Darby home intruder
Upper Darby are searching for a man who entered the homes of women home alone in the pre-dawn hours.

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Imagine waking up in the middle of the night to find a stranger standing over your bed. That's the horror four women in Delaware County have experienced over the last few months.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood has his whole town on alert.

Police say there is a violent sexual predator on the prowl; he has struck four times since mid-April, entering the homes of women home alone in the pre-dawn hours.

Back on April 16, police say he entered an apartment building on Guilford Road at 3:00 a.m.

A woman told police she was asleep on her couch when she awakened to a man standing inside her living room. She said it was the same man who had approached her during the day. She screamed and he fled.

"It seems like this guy is stalking these women because he's able to find out where they live, he's able to get in there without any force. Usually, in most of the cases, they're leaving a window open or a door open," Chitwood said.

Police say it has been the same mode of operation on three other occasions, two last week, in the same area of town.

In one incident, police say the suspect grabbed a woman in the groin.

Police say the suspect is a black male, in his early 20s, 5'8 to 5'10, with a moustache, goatee, and a gap between his front teeth.

Anyone with information or sees anything suspicious is asked to call Upper Darby police.
