Police say a person was hospitalized after being pistol whipped during a robbery in Philadelphia's Lawndale section.

LAWNDALE (WPVI) -- Police say a person was hospitalized after being pistol whipped during a robbery in Philadelphia's Lawndale section.

The robbery happened Friday afternoon at Stuart's Stamps and Stuff, located on the 7200 block of Rising Sun Avenue.

A 60-year-old employee there was robbed and pistol whipped.

Police say the suspect fled the scene with two guns and other items.

The employee was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.

Police continue to investigate.
