VIDEO: Drive narrowly misses man on bench
A dirver narrowly missed a man sitting on a bench in Upper Darby.

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- A driver who just left traffic court crashed into an Upper Darby store narrowly missing a man sitting outside.

Surveillance video released by the Upper Darby Police Department shows the driver losing control of his vehicle on West Chester Pike Tuesday.

The car avoids people walking on the sidewalk, spins, and crashes into a store and a gas line.

A man can be seen sitting on a bench outside the store.

Police say he was not injured and refer to him as the "luckiest man alive."

Police say the driver of the car had just left traffic court for a careless driving charge.

The crash and gas leak resulted in the shutdown of West Chester Pike in that area.
