SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Friends and family gathered in South Philadelphia Wednesday night to mourn a murdered mother.

Police say 33-year-old Lauren Aukett was found bleeding from the head around 6:30 a.m. on April 5 on the steps of South Philadelphia High School at Broad and Snyder.

She died in the hospital this past Saturday. Her death was ruled a homicide due to blunt force trauma.

Aukett had been living on the street.

"Just because you know someone might be homeless or someone might be using drugs or may have used drugs in the past, does not make them a bad person," said, Carolyn Aukett-Belgiorno, victim's sister.

The victim's cousin Dina Orapallo said, "We just beg you, Lauren was loved by many people. She has all the support. And her family here wants justice for her."

Police have not released a description of the suspect.
