PLYMOUTH TWP, Pa. -- The widow of a slain Plymouth Township police officer has filed suit against the store that sold the gun that claimed her husband's life.

Lynsey Fox appeared a news conference Monday morning, announcing the suit against In Site Firearms in Jeffersonville, Pennsylvania.

That's where a so-called straw purchaser bought the Beretta M9 for Andrew Thomas who couldn't pass a background check.

Thomas then used that gun to kill Officer Bradley Fox back in 2012.

"I wish there was no need for this press conference. I wish there was no need for me to file this lawsuit. I wish the man who murdered my husband never had access to a gun. I wish the gun store whom I have brought my lawsuit never sold to a straw purchaser the gun used to kill my husband. But that gun store did sell that gun. And that sale led to my husband's murder," Fox said.

The suit alleges the store failed to comply with its legal obligations and acted in willful violation of its license.
