Wilmington man injured in random shooting

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Police believe a 31-year-old man was randomly struck by a bullet and injured in Wilmington, Delaware Wednesday evening.

The incident happened just before 8:00 p.m. on the 800 block of Kirkwood Street.

Patrol officers and K-9 units were in the area when gunshots were fired.

They say within a minute the victim was found with a gunshot wound to his right leg.

He was treated by medics at the scene and then taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.
