NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have identified the woman who was beaten to death with a hammer in North Philadelphia on Sunday.

32-year-old Izesha Gateward was found inside a second floor apartment in the 2500 block of North 17th Street.

Police were called to the location around 5 p.m. to find Gateward bleeding from her head and body. She was pronounced dead by medics.

Investigators say it appears an argument with her boyfriend turned violent. She struck multiple times with the hammer, police say.

So far, there have been no arrests.
