Woman questioned in Lawncrest shooting

LAWNCREST (WPVI) -- A 28-year-old man was shot in the back in Philadelphia's Lawncrest section late Monday night.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 5400 block Howland Street.

The man was shot in the back while near his vehicle, police say.

The bullet exited out his chest and landed in the ashtray of his car.

Police say the victim was able to give a description of the female he believes is responsible.

Officers apprehended that woman a short distance away and she was taken into custody.

The victim was taken to Einstein Hospital for surgery. He is in critical but stable condition.

So far, there is no word on charges.
