Firefighters rescued a woman hanging from a second story window as she tried to escape a burning home in the Point Breeze section of Philadelphia.

Firefighters rescued a woman hanging from a second story window as she tried to escape a burning home in the Point Breeze section of Philadelphia.

The fire started around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday on the 1700 block of Annin Street.

Crews arrived and quickly went to work containing the blaze.

A ladder was used to help get the 63-year-old woman down from the window.

She was taken to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation. She is expected to be okay.

There is no immediate word on the cause.
