Woman rescued from high water in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- A woman's car got stranded in high water in New Castle Thursday morning.

It happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Airport Road.

The water spilled over from Nonesuch Creek.

Police say the woman tried to drive through despite signs warning of the flooding.

Firefighters walked her to safety and she wasn't hurt.
