Woman robbed inside apartment building in West Philadelphia

Police are looking for a trio of bandits who they believe have been targeting victims who are bundled up against the cold temperatures.

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for three suspects who robbed a woman at gunpoint inside her apartment building in West Philadelphia.

It happened early Sunday morning at 1:15 a.m.

Police say the trio followed the woman as she walked into her apartment building on the 3100 block of Hamilton Street.

One suspect pointed a handgun and forced her against the wall in the first floor stairwell.

The suspects stole her cell phone, book bag and $200 before fleeing the building.

They were last seen running west on Hamilton Street.

The victim suffered only minor injuries.

Police believe these three suspects may also be responsible for similar robberies around the 4400 block of Pine Street on February 12 and may be targeting victims who are unaware and bundled up from the cold.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 6'0 tall with a thin build. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a blue t-shirt underneath.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 6'0 tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket with a light colored shirt underneath, dark colored track pants with white stripes down the sides, and armed with a handgun.

The third suspect is described as a black male wearing a dark colored hooded jacket, sneakers and a mask.
