FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- A woman trying to catch SEPTA's Market-Frankford El was attacked and slashed in the arm by a stranger. That victim spoke out to Action News.

It happened around 9:30 Wednesday morning at the Margaret-Orthodox Station in Philadelphia's Frankford section.

"'Don't you know I will bust you in the mouth?' Then he came in, threw the punch, I blocked the punch like this. So he got mad cause he didn't get the punch and land it in my face," said Shelli Renee-Daley.

The 50-year-old victim says the man captured on surveillance footage attack her for no reason.

She tried to get away and he chased her around the train station platform wielding a yellow box cutter.

"He said, 'I'm gonna cut you, I'm gonna kill you, I'm gonna slice you," said Renee-Daley.

The victim says she tried to defend herself as best she could against him while he was swinging the box cutter at her.

"When I'm holding the paper...he sliced me here. When he realized he sliced me here, he kept on coming back...He said, 'I'm gonna slice your throat, I'm gonna slice your throat,'" said Renee-Daley.

The assailant then ran up to street level and fled before police arrived.

The victim walked to Frankford Aria Hospital nearby where she got stiches to a 5 inch gash on her wrist.

Renee-Daley says all she could think of is making it home to her 9-year-old son.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, white t-shirt, shorts and carrying a backpack.

Anyone with information is urged to contact SEPTA Police.
