Woman struck and killed by train in Havertown

HAVERFORD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A woman was killed after being struck by a train in Delaware County.

The accident happened just before 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Penfield Station near East Manoa Road and Lawson Lane in Havertown.

The pedestrian was struck by a train on the northbound Norristown High Speed Line.

The victim has only been described as a woman in her 40s. Her identity has not been released.

SEPTA service in the area was disrupted for a few hours but trains are now operating normally.
