Police say a 60-year-old woman is critical after being struck by an SUV in Talleyville, Delaware Friday morning.

TALLEYVILLE, Del. (WPVI) -- Police have identified the woman struck and critically injured by an SUV early Friday in Talleyville, Delaware.

Delaware State Police say Mercy Odom, 62, of Wilmington had just gotten off a DART bus and was crossing the northbound lanes of U.S. Route 202 (Concord Pike) when she was struck.

It happened in the 4700 block of the highway at 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Police say Odom was not in a crosswalk when she was hit by a 2008 Jeep SUV, whose driver did stop after the collision.

Medics treated Odom at the scene for head, chest and other injuries.

She was taken to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center in Stanton, which she remains in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV, 33-year-old Adam Larison of Coatesville, Pa., was not injured.

There was no immediate word if any charges would be filed.

The northbound Concord Pike was closed at the Rocky Run Parkway for about 2 and a half hours as police investigated and worked to clear the scene.
