Some young athletes had the chance to keep cool and raise money for a great cause at the same time Monday.

The Bull Frogs swim team hosted a swim-a-thon at their pool in Chesterfield, New Jersey, in support of childhood brain tumor research.

All proceeds are for Thea's Star of Hope, a local charity started for Thea Danze, a Robbinsville girl who's battling cancer.

Her mom braved the heat to help with the event.

Trisha Danze, Thea's Star of Hope President said "It's been a long long road, and she's had a lot of setbacks and a lot of side effects, so we started Thea's Star of Hope to try and find better treatments for kids with brain tumors and hopefully find more targeted therapies that are going to reduce the side effects so these kids can live long and healthy lives."

The bull frogs wanted to help the cause after their teammate Ronald Hogas was diagnosed with leukemia.

He's already back in the pool after he was treated at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
