CHADDS FORD, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Texas family left homeless by Hurricane Harvey is about to receive one giant donation, in the form of a RV.

Over the last week, Mary Liz Cawley and her husband, Bill, from Chadds Ford, raised enough money to renovate their old house on wheels to make it like new.

Now, the vehicle is outfitted with hardwood floors, a new kitchen, and a new paint job with a Texas twist.

The Cawleys showed us the finished product on Thursday before departing with a big send-off from the students at Hillendale Elementary.

They are driving the RV all the way to Houston to give it to someone who needs it more.

"It is gonna sleep a family of three and it's a perfect little home for a family of three," said Mary Liz Cawley. "And there's surprises inside waiting for Vivian, the little girl. And there is stuff for the mom and dad and all the supplies they need, at least for a couple weeks to get them going."

Once they get to Texas the Cawleys also plan to distribute $15,000 in donations they've collected. That money will go to others who also lost their homes.
