NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a hit and run incident in Northeast Philadelphia Wednesday evening.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard at Southampton Road.

Investigators say a pedestrian was struck in the northbound inner lanes of the Boulevard.

The driver then left the scene, police say, heading northbound on the Boulevard into Bucks County.

Authorities say the driver returned to the scene about an hour later.

Police said the victim, a woman believed to be in her twenties, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
