RHAWNHURST (WPVI) -- Neighbors in Philadelphia's Rhawnhurst section protested outside a home they say is the site of severe animal cruelty.

The residents say a man living along the 2900 block of Sandyford Road has left his dogs outside inside a box for days.

They say the dog house had its windows nailed shut and two dogs and a puppy were kept out in the cold.

Philadelphia Police responded to the home late Friday night.

Action News also tried to speak to the pet owner, but he declined.
