SEDAN, Kan. -- An aging black Labrador named Lady has had her share of hard knocks since her owner died two years ago.

She was taken to a shelter in Kansas after that. Another family adopted her, but later returned her, saying she was rough with their puppy.

Then someone else adopted her, but Lady escaped and walked 30 miles back to the home of the family that didn't want her. She soon found herself back at the shelter.

Lady's luck has now turned around. Helen Rich is a Florida heiress to the Wrigley chewing gum company. She learned about Lady on Facebook and sent a private jet to pick her up.

Rich also happens to own an animal sanctuary in Florida, so Lady will be in the company of other rescue animals.
