VIDEO: Malnourished dog now healthy, ready for adoption
After a month of rehabilitation and a whole lot of love, a starved dog in Delaware County is ready to move into a forever home.

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- A dog found malnourished in the back yard of a home in Chester, Pa. is now available for adoption.

The Delaware County SPCA said Pearl, a pit bull terrier, arrived at their facility weighing just 20 pounds.

They said her ribs protruded through her skin and she could barely stand on her legs.

Today, the Delco SPCA said, Pearl weights 45 pounds.

Anyone interested in adopting Pearl can fill out a dog application at DelcoSPCA.org.

You can drop off the application at the Adoption Center in Media, email it to Dayna at dvilla@delcospca.org or fax the completed application to Dayna's attention at 610-565-1176.

Applications will be accepted through Sunday, November 23

The Delco SPCA says a team of people invested in Pearl's care will choose the best candidates and reach out to coordinate meet and greets.

Pearl suffers from Lyme disease but has no other lasting effects of her poor living conditions.

The Delco SPCA said two people pled guilty and were cited for neglect and emaciation, misdemeanors in the state of Pennsylvania.
