When she got married, Sarah Mallouk Crain had the perfect idea for a wedding photo shoot: posing with rescue puppies.

Photographer Caroline Logan said the presence of the puppies had an immediate effect on her subjects, the bridal party, and it made for better photos.

"From the minute the puppies came bounding around the corner exploring their new surroundings, the bridesmaids were gushing about how cute they were," she told. "Having something to divert attention from that uncomfortable 'Oh my goodness, I'm getting my picture taken... what do I do with my hands?!' feeling to pure puppy bliss made for relaxed photos where the bridal party was able to focus on interacting with the fun-loving puppies."

The Boxer-Coonhound puppies held by the bridal party come from the nonprofit Crain works with, Pitties Love Peace, in Central Pennsylvania. The 8-week-old sisters are named after the first five first ladies of the United States: Martha (as in Washington), Abigail (as in Adams), Dolley (as in Madison), Elizabeth (as in Monroe), and Louisa (as in Adams). The bride was holding a pitbull named Biggie Smalls who was rescued from the streets of Brooklyn.

Crain's wedding with husband Matt went off without a hitch, and so did the photo shoot, Logan said.

"Thankfully there was no puppy drama, no accidents, and no dresses harmed in the making of the photos!" she said. "The wedding party was loving all the puppy snuggles."

The best part, Logan said, is that the puppies were all put up for adoption. Five of them are still are available, according to WGAL.
