GILBERTSVILLE, Pa. (WPVI) -- One rescue group is having lots of success in finding forever homes for its furry friends.

When Vanessa Rymarowicz adopted Angel from Mostly Muttz Rescue, last year, the pup filled a void.

"I lost my husband unexpectedly a little over a year and a half ago. Really I felt empty, and then when I saw her and brought her home. I just all of the sudden I had a reason to come home," said Vanessa.

And the dog's name became her mission.

"She was just truly my Angel. She is the best dog I ever had. She just loves to play, she loves to cuddle. She just brings so much joy to me," said Vanessa.

April Moyer is the co-founder/president of Mostly Muttz Rescue.

She said, "To know there are people's lives that we're changing through saving these dogs is huge."

And the foster based rescue has so many more looking for forever homes, including Maybel.

"She's a little bit nervous and scared sometimes. She's doing really well in foster," said April.

Meghan is a 10-week-old hound mix.

April says, "She's looking for her forever home. She's a puppy, so she still needs to work on house training and crate training."

Rox is a two-year-old special needs beagle mix.

"She has some neurological problems. She walks a little funny. Sometimes she falls over, but loves to play with other dogs," said April.

Shiner would prefer to be the only dog.

"He loves people and he knows basic commands already," said April.

And finally, there is Granny June, a 10-week-old beagle who apparently likes treats. She was rescued from a shelter and cover in tumors. They were removed and all were benign. She now has a clean bill of health, and is looking for a forever home.
