Shelter Me: Rescue Express

This week, we shine our Shelter Me spotlight on the Rescue Express.

Ann Crumb is an award winning actor but her role as President of Rescue Express is a passion she has found away from the stage.

"When I'm backstage in my dressing room I'm there in my ridiculous costume on the phone doing rescue work," said Crumb.

She continues, "You don't realize the need until you start doing the actual work. It's endless. It's like trying to empty the ocean with a teaspoon."

Rescue Express has rescued more than a thousand dogs in just over four years and thanks to a growing network of foster parents, they have very few restrictions.

"We rescue dogs of all breeds, dogs of all mixes," said Crumb.

If they save a puppy, they make sure the mother also has a suitable home.
