NORTHAMPTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- A dog who went from shelter's death row is now claiming TV stardom.

Meet Brooklyn, a 3-year-old Boxer Lab mix.

She has a tendency to chew up dog remotes. And, that is what made her famous on America's Funniest Home Videos.

Lindsay Abel adopted Brooklyn back in 2012.

"She ended up winning the episode. Yeah, a 10 thousand dollar dog. Normally they don't pay you back like that," said Lindsay.

Before her turn in the spotlight, Brooklyn was rescued from a high kill shelter in Tennessee nearly three years ago by the Almost Home Dog Rescue.

Carolyn Power, the President of Almost Home Dog Rescues said, "We pull dogs out of high kill shelters down south and bring them up and match them with appropriate homes."

Lindsay adds, "I couldn't even think of somebody else adopting her. I had to take her."

Lindsay and her dog Brooklyn are one of the three thousand adoptions made by Almost Home since they started in 2008.

"It's just so rewarding to see what great lives they have. All of our dogs have better lives than we do," said Carolyn.

Brooklyn may have found her happy home but there are still other dogs waiting for homes.
