PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philly Kitty is a special place for cats who need a little extra love.

Co-Founder, Leslie O'Neill says, "Our focus is on special needs and on medically urgent cats and kittens that wouldn't have a way out of the shelter otherwise."

Philly Kitty was founded in 2012 and has already rescued more than two hundred cats. Many are in need of some tender loving care.

"They might have been hit by a car. They might have a deformity and they have no other way out otherwise and we do the best we can to find them the care they need. They go into foster and then ultimately their forever home," added O'Neill.

They have adoption locations at Pet Valu in the Northeast and Dogtown in Montgomery County. All in an effort to make that forever connection.

O'Neill says, "Finding that person who just loves them unconditionally and can't imagine their life without that cat really makes it all worth it."

If you're interested in any of the cats, you can go to the Philly Kitty website.

You can also vote for your favorite shelter-or add a rescue group to our list by going to the Shelter Me section of the Action News' Facebook page.

We'll feature the top vote getter next Saturday morning on Action News and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. on FYI Philly.
