TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Former Trenton Mayor Tony Mack is seeking an appeal of his corruption conviction.

An attorney for Mack requested a new trial claiming that assistant U.S. attorneys misled jurors about evidence during the trial and closing arguments.

Mack was convicted of bribery, extortion as well as mail and wire fraud.

He is currently serving a 58-month prison sentence in West Virginia.

In addition to serving jail time, Mack, 48, must also do 100 hours of community service and pay $3,000 in fines.
