The media waited to gain access to Donald Trump's headquarters.

NEW YORK CITY (WPVI) -- There was a long line in Midtown Manhattan Tuesday, but it was not to vote.

It was a line filled with media from around the world waiting for their credentials so they could come into the hotel ballroom for Donald Trump's watch party.

The hotel is a couple blocks from Trump Tower where he launched his campaign back in June 2015 and is where he is expected to watch the results.

Traditionally, media credentials are handed out the day before the election, but the Trump campaign has not been a traditional one.

The good news is Action News in now inside to be joined by Trump supporters and surrogates.

We spoke with a few of them in the hotel lobby and they are expecting quite a celebration Tuesday night.

One supporter said, "I expect great things to happen here."

Erin Elmore is here from Philadelphia. She's a big Trump supporter, and has stumped for him on various cable TV shows.

Ten years ago, she was a contestant on Trump's reality show "The Apprentice".

She says she can't wait to celebrate Donald Trump's election tonight.

"When I went to the ballot and pressed the buttons, and cast my vote for Donald Trump, I got real emotional because the big day is finally here. There is so much tremendous excitement and anxiety. And it feels really good to be a part of something so special," said Elmore.

At some point tonight, win or lose, Donald Trump will be in the ballroom, as well - addressing his supporters and the media.
