POINT BREEZE (WPVI) -- A new affordable housing community opened on Thursday in Philadelphia.

Mayor Michael Nutter did the honors of cutting the ribbon at the Tasker Village Apartments in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia.

The 28 units have upgraded kitchen and bathroom fixtures, Energy Star appliances and solar panels to power public lighting.

There's also a new community center.

A state tax credit paid for the renovations.
