SOCIETY HILL (WPVI) -- It's design with a purpose.

Philadelphia Magazine has revealed this year's Design Home and it's helping raise money for a good cause.

And for the first time in 13 years, the design home is in the city and not the suburbs.

The Design Home is 6,000 square feet and has 6 levels of modern living in the city's historic Society Hill neighborhood. It's located at 130 South Front Street and costs about $3 million dollars.

There are five total bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.

"We staged two of them as studies or dens so this could be a home office or work area," said Marcello Luzi, Lead Interior Designer.

And just down the hall is your own garage fit for two cars.

Travel down a level and you'll find the perfect guest suite with a steam shower and a media room with a bar.

"You're never more than a floor away from wine," said Luzi.

The third floor is the main living area with soaring 20 foot ceilings and a state-of-the-art kitchen. There's even a wine room conveniently tucked in between the kitchen and the living room.

Principal architect Jose Hernandez says the goal was to maximize those views and offer suburban-style amenities in the heart of the city.

"People want bigger homes. They want large parking. They want to have all of the high amenities within walking distance to everything the city has," he said.

Philly Mag's Design Home is also a showcase for local products, with each floor decorated by a different local company.

And everything in the home is also available for purchase!

There are balconies on the third and fifth floors, with the third floor balcony coming right off the kitchen. And there's even a rooftop deck with a bar, outdoor kitchen and a plunge pool.

Philadelphia Magazine's 2016 Design Home opens its doors to tours from October 15th through November 6th.

Every ticket purchased to tour the home goes to help Manna provide meals for neighbors battling life-threatening illnesses.
