PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycles will be used to escort and protect Pope Francis when he comes to Philadelphia.
Eight Harleys were presented to the motorcycle unit of the Philadelphia Police Highway Patrol Wednesday morning.
The Philadelphia Police Foundation fast-tracked fundraising to buy the motorcycles so they would be here in time for the Pope.
The bikes are replacing aging cycles.
The motorcycles were not included in the city's budget, so the nonprofit foundation raised almost $150,000 to start the process of getting the new vehicles.
