WYNNEWOOD, Pa. (WPVI) -- When Pope Francis comes to Philadelphia next month, he's going to call Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in nearby Wynnewood his home away from home.

At the seminary, here since the early 19th century, preparations are well underway.

"We're looking forward welcoming Pope Francis to the seminary," said Bishop Timothy Senior.

Popes have stayed at the seminary during trips to America, both before and after they became pontiff. Among the key location: the chapel where Pope Francis will meet with the 185 bishops from around the world who will gather for the World Meeting of Families.

He will preside in the same chair that Pope John Paul II used when he was here in 1979.

"There's going to be an opportunity for him to speak to the bishops and speak about family life and the challenges that families are facing all over the world," said Senior.

Security measures will no doubt have an impact for nearby residents. Route 1 will be shut down the night before the pope arrives.

Still, people in the area seem to be taking it in stride.

"We originally were going to try and rent out our house, and decided to stay put and see what the fuss is going to be about," said Mary Coyne.

"As long as elected officials do what they should, keep everybody informed, take proper precautions, we should be in good shape," said Adam Rosen.
