Hillary Rae wrote that she decided to try out the shark cage diving attraction at the Cango Wildlife Ranch in South Africa, where she works, on one of her days off.

Rae got up close and personal with the 11.5 foot great white shark, which viciously attacks the cage protecting her. As the shark chomps and bites at the round blue buoy at the side of the cage, Rae's friend can be heard screaming in terror from above the cage.

She says the shark was even closer than it appears, and that the wide angle of the GoPro Hero 4 she was recording with makes it appear further away.

After a solid minute of intense effort to break the cage, the shark eventually gives up and swims away. Rae added that the buoy that the shark was chomping at was bent in half afterward.
