FYI Philly: Kat Designs

NARBERTH, Pa. (WPVI) -- Philadelphia is becoming a treasure trove for hand-crafted jewelry.

Kat Mittman Kobak has been designing jewelry on the Main Line for 3 years.

Her designs have gone Hollywood, catching the eye of celebs like Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, and John Mayer.

She has also designed pieces for Oscar and Grammy swag bags.

Kat says, "To get recognition from LA all the way to New York it's nice. It's a really good feeling."

The pieces are priced from $50 to $300 at Kat Designs.

She designs her pieces for every woman and many can be worn different ways.

You can dress them up or down if you want to.

"Absolutely and you can make it different lengths, adds Kat."

Kat began designing and making her own pieces after becoming frustrated with the lack of retail options.

She says, "People started saying wow where'd you get that, I'm like I made it."

Kat handpicks the beads and stones that adorn her pieces. Her doubled sided choker is a must-have.

"Maybe one day you want gold, you're wearing gold, and the silver rests on your neck. The next day you're wearing silver, you turn it around, you're wearing silver and the gold rests on your neck," said Kat.
