Many area retailers decided to open their doors and offer their Black Friday deals a little early this year.

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- Many area retailers decided to open their doors and offer their Black Friday deals a little early this year.

As the doors opened at 6:00 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the Target on City Avenue in Wynnefield Heights, shoppers began filling up their carts.

Electronics were the hot items. The hottest item may have been a 40" TV for $119. But you had to get a ticket.

"I don't know how much a 40" usually goes for, but it's $119 today," said Sparkle Lee. "It's a great deal."

Outside the Best Buy in King of Prussia, the line wrapped around the building.

People began waiting around 5:00 a.m. Thursday. And talk about a bargain: a Samsung Galaxy phone went for just a buck.

"Well it's got an awesome camera," said Samantha Brown of Norristown. "It's pretty, and it's a dollar. And I haven't upgraded my phone in 3 years. And I'm bored, hey!"

It seems that wasn't the only holiday gift going for just a dollar.

Tom Maier went to ToysRUs in Cherry Hill to get an item I once found in my stocking.

"They had Play-Doh on sale," he said. "I got 10 of them for the grandchildren."

The King of Prussia Mall wasn't going be left out of the early sales. Some of the bigger stores opened Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

H and M, Lord and Taylor and the Gap were among those luring shoppers with 40, 50 even 60 percent off.

Thanksgiving shopping isn't what it used to be, and shoppers are taking notice - even when the team in green is playing.

"The Eagles are playing," said Michelle Hesher of Edgewood Park, N.J. "And I'm here at the toy store."
