Bridal boutique offering big discounts in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A boutique on Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia offers incredible savings for brides-to-be all year long. But starting Sunday, thanks to a special sale, the deals will be better than ever.

At Carolyn Verdi Boutique, you'll find wedding gowns of all silhouettes and from all kinds of designers for $1,200 or less.

"This was originally $3,200. I have it marked to $1,200 and this will be 20% off for the sale," said owner, Carolyn Verdi. "I have Pronovias, Paloma Blanca - the names just go on and they're not sacrificing quality either. They're getting a really good quality gown."

Most of the dresses are samples or discontinued gowns.

"This gown would have retailed for about $2,500 and I have it marked to $1,200. It will be on sale at 10% off," said Verdi.

Yes, while prices at this Passyunk boutique are always deeply discounted - from next Sunday, September 13th, through Saturday, September 19th, - they'll be even less!

"All gowns over $500 dollars will be 10% to 20% off, so it is considerable savings," she said.

After the wedding gown has been bought, mothers-of-the-bride, bridesmaids and others can go next door to Mia Philadelphia to find what they're going to wear.

Mia sells all kinds of special occasion dresses and an entire rack of slightly shop-worn gowns will sell for $30 each!

All those proceeds will go to the nonprofit Hotties 4 Humanity, which supports various charities by hosting monthly Ladies Night Out Events to raise money.

"It was a great theme to tie into everything," said Verdi.
