Turning old video game consoles, vacuums into cash
With spring cleaning comes decluttering and with that - and if you are thrifty and nifty - a chance for you to find someone else's trash and flip it for a profit.

With spring cleaning comes decluttering and with that - and if you are thrifty and nifty - a chance for you to find someone else's trash and flip it for a profit.

US News and World Report rounded up a list of 10 yard sale items that you can buy on the cheap and then resell for double or triple that or more.

First, vintage video games and the consoles. We're talking pre-2000 game consoles like Nintendo.

They are apparently hot right now and hard to find, so if you see them, grab them. You can get top dollar reselling Super Mario and friends.

People like to get rid of old electronics. If they work, grab them. You can sell them yourself for a big profit on online marketplaces.

And perhaps you haven't thought an old vacuum could have a new life, but they say if you see a good one and clean it up, you can almost always double or triple your money.

Who knew!

They say the same goes for bicycles. You can get big bucks if you spend a little time getting a good brand back it in tip top shape.

Finishing off the list:

Old trading cards. Collectors go crazy.

Tools that are in good working order.

Musical instruments that work.

Sports equipment.

DVDs and Blu-rays, most people sell a big box for little money. They say take the whole box, you can really rack up selling them individually. But you will invest time here. The same goes for CDs and books.
