PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- November 1st is the start of what is officially the best "sale" month of the year.

According to DealNews.com, November is the ultimate month for deal hunters.

And you don't have to wait for Black Friday to start grabbing the best sales.

First is large home appliances. This is your time to shop for that new washer and dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator or stove.

The deeper we get into the month, the better the deals. They say the discounts average 35% - the best of the year. Kitchen appliances also could hit the half-off mark.

Next s Apple devices - everything from iPads to Apple Watches will also hit their best prices of the year, the older models more so than the new generations.

November is also the time for a closet refresh as clothing and shoes will be greatly discounted. DealNews says the sales start at 54% and will creep up to 80% for Black Friday.

For techies and holiday gift-givers, now is the time to start buying laptops, tablets, TVs and game consoles. Those deals peak Cyber Monday - the Monday after Thanksgiving.

But DealNews says there are things you will want to wait until January to grab on sale.

That includes winter apparel, toys and gift cards when people sell the ones they don't want for a fraction of the face value.
