What's the Deal: Finding cash in your trash
Before you take out the trash this week, take a second peek in those pails because you might be throwing away cash.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Before you take out the trash this week, take a second peek in those pails because you might be throwing away cash.

Our friends at The Penny Hoarder that say there are things worth value that many of us think are garbage, such as wine bottles and wine corks.

What you may not know is that there's a market for both of these items on resale sites like eBay.

You can get about 50 cents for each bottle and 10 cents fro each cork. It can add up!

Have any unwanted coupons? People actually sell them online! Imagine? People pay for coupons? It's true.

Some folks even started their own website for selling their reject coupons.

How about empty printer ink cartridges?

The Penny Hoarder says simply tossing them is bad for the environment, but also says there are several websites that will buy your empty one for anywhere from $1 to $20 and many even pick up the tab for shipping.

If you have empty cartridges, try visiting InkjetCartridge.com or TonerBuyer.com.

How about old magazines? Some titles such as National Geographic have good resale value on eBay.

Finally, if you have recently moved and have a stack of boxes - there are resell companies that will buy your boxes directly! For that, visit BoxQuest.com.
